Biochar & Biocarbon

The Market Is Growing. The Infrastructure Isn't.

Supply is fragmented, quality varies, and compliance standards are confusing. Valorize provides the transaction infrastructure that makes biocarbon supply bankable for both buyers and producers.

1. Fragmented Supply

Producers are distributed across regions and feedstocks with inconsistent specs, logistics, and contracting structures.

2. Specification and Reliability Risk

Industrial buyers need repeatable quality and delivery confidence to integrate engineered biochar and biocarbon into operations.

3. Carbon Management Complexity

Certification pathways, registries, audits, and credit issuance add operational burden and delay monetization outcomes.

Redefining Resiliency with 48forty Solutions and LOCOAL

At a 48forty pallet recycling site in Houston, LOCOAL’s Rainmaker technology has been deployed to convert wood pallet residuals into biochar, renewable energy, and renewable fuels feedstock. The project demonstrates a scalable model for sustainable waste management.

The impact goes beyond carbon credits: reduced landfill waste, cleaner energy inputs, healthier soils through biochar application, and new revenue streams from residuals that once carried disposal costs.

Frequently Asked Questions

Everything you need to know about Valorize Systems

Valorize Systems is a software and services company that allows companies to integrate biochar into their supply chains at scale. This includes sourcing and qualifying biochar suppliers, identifying leverage points within a supply chain, and monitoring the long-term results of integration. Our customers across agrifood, steel, and anaerobic digestion industries create new revenue while reducing carbon emissions.

Valorize supports two primary groups: industrial buyers and biochar producers. Industrial buyers such as agrifood companies, energy producers, and heavy industry are seeking low-carbon materials and carbon removals. Biochar producers are looking to commercialize production, access global markets, and monetize carbon credits.

Our industrial customers include Cargill, Exxon, ETG, and Nespresso. Our biochar producer customers include Takachar, LOCOAL, Sitos Group, and many more. The market is growing rapidly and it is an amazing time to be in the biochar industry.

Valorize is founded and operated by biochar and supply chain experts. We manage dozens of projects across five continents, with hundreds of biochar suppliers and industrial customers. Our projects have profitably replaced thousands of tons of carbon-heavy materials and emissions.

Biochar is a carbon-rich material created by heating biomass (like crop residues or wood waste) in a low-oxygen process called pyrolysis. It is used in industrial supply chains as a soil amendment, filtration material, construction additive, and carbon storage medium. Because it locks carbon away for long periods, companies can also generate carbon removal credits, turning waste biomass into both a material input and a climate asset.
